Business (Postgraduate) University of Exeter, UK

Overview

The University of Exeter is one of the most attractive British universities. It is ranked very highly within the UK and this makes it a popular choice for international students. The University currently has more than 14,000 students from all over the world on its rolls.

The University of Exeter is located in the South West of England with London just two and a half hours away by train; the city also has good road and rail links with the rest of the UK and beyond.

The University of Exeter’s Business School, established in 1997, currently enrols more than 2,800 students. This includes students on undergraduate, post graduate taught and research levels. The international atmosphere at the University enriches the academic experience for all the Business School students, while preparing them for the corporate world. The Business School is located at Streatham Court on the University's Streatham Campus. This is the biggest of the three University sites, and is built around a country estate overlooking Exeter and the surrounding countryside.

Students enrolled at the Business School are ideally suited to study at the University, as Exeter is currently experiencing a huge economic boom. The place is becoming increasingly attractive for companies in the business line, going by the string of company relocations to Exeter, bringing in its wake new jobs and better opportunities.

As a leading business school in the UK, it enjoys a very high ranking in the league tables:

  • The School is placed in the top 20 for research quality.
  • The 2008 Research Assessment Exercise ranks the department of Accounting and Finance second in the world for ‘world leading’ and ‘internationally excellent’ research.
  • The 2008 Research Assessment Exercise ranks the department of Business and Management Studies 16th for ‘world leading’ and ‘internationally excellent’ research.
  • The Department of Economics and Econometrics has 75 per cent of its research classified as ‘world leading’ or ‘internationally excellent’.
  • The 2010 Good University Guide, published by The Times, ranks the Business School fifth for Business Studies and sixth for Economics.
  • The School is ranked first for student satisfaction; this is the second year running that the School has topped the satisfaction chart, ahead of much larger business schools in the UK.
